Here’s a fact that can’t be disputed – drinking water is important.
Not to state the obvious, but beyond what you already know, here are some facts as to why you should need to be chugging down enough water:
A Crowning Glory Moment
Your hair can get dehydrated, too! Not in a literal sense, but water is important in cell growth and detoxifying.
Picture this: you get dehydrated, your body then will preserve water for your other vital organs, which might lead to hair loss, hair thinning, and other factors that do not look good and feel good! Hence, drinking copious amounts of water will help in maintaining that beautiful hair of yours.
Peep That Glow!
Sure, you’re using that crazy expensive moisturizer and serum combo that ALL the beauty gurus you love swear by, but what happens if you take enough hydration out of the picture? Nada. I’m sorry to break it to you, but it’s useless. Skincare works but water intake would take you to greater heights in terms of taking care of your skin.
Rachel Nazarian, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital mentioned that “…water makes a big difference in skin health. Without adequate water intake, skin appears duller, and wrinkles and pores [are] more prominent,” in an article that appeared in Women’s Health.
Pucker up, Buttercup!
Who wants crusty-looking lips? NO ONE. Not only does it look horrendous, but it also feels irritating, doesn’t it?
When it gets colder here in the Philippines, which for us is at around late November to early February, our lips tend to get chapped. Keep them moisturized with your ever-trustee lip balm and of course, enough water. Your lips will be thanking you for the quench!
On that note, are you up for a water challenge? Does anyone want to try drinking 1 gallon of water daily for a week with me? Let me know in the comments and let’s set it up!
